Pandemic Has Changed the Lifestyle |

Every new day brings an opportunity to change your life, but these changes will be voluntary. For more than a year life has taken a drastic turn during and after the pandemic where the entire world is forced to change the lifestyle and adapt a particular set of rules and regulations which have become mandatory. This pandemic has changed the lifestyle of the world.

1 . Home is All in One

For more than a year the role of home has changed. It has taken up more responsibilities since then. It is an office, a school, a play area, gym as well as a home. The lifestyle, with which we all were familiar is only a memory now. Life is changing and so is the lifestyle. We are losing discipline in our houses. There is no fixed time for sleeping and eating. We eat whenever we like and whenever we feel hungry. Similarly we sleep as we like and wherever we like in the house. The pandemic has spoilt a few of our good habits but in return it has also taught us some of good norms. We have adapted a healthy lifestyle and eat healthy food. We wash our hands a number of times in a day and we use a mask to protect ourselves as well as others. We also maintain social distance.  It is a fact that the pandemic has changed our lifestyle.

2 . Mandatory Lifestyle

Even a year after the pandemic, our lifestyle which was undergoing a transformation seems to remain the same and may continue for an unknown period. All around the globe are forced to follow the changed lifestyle which includes, work from home, online education in a new blended learning setting, mandatory wearing of mask, sanitizing hands, social distancing and much more. The list of new lifestyle changes is a prolonged one. As the positive cases are being heard almost in every country, life cannot be stopped for ever. We should learn to live with the virus. Life needs to adapt a strategy where the normal activities can go on at its own pace but with restricted lifestyle. We all need to get used to these changes of the lifestyle to protect ourselves and also others in the society. Many changes are taken up in different fields like – education, day-day lifestyle, employment place, entertainment, commercial sector, hotels etc. We have to learn to live with the virus by taking all necessary precautions and lead a safe and healthy lifestyle.

3 . Changed Lifestyle at Workplace

Though many are working from home, there are still a few members of the society who attend the office regularly. The corporate offices are also reconfiguring and taking steps to make the environment of the office safer for their employees. Offices are maintaining higher standards of health and safety measures and creating a flexible working setup. Workstations are arranged in a manner to maintain social distancing. All the other new norms are also strictly being followed thus paving way to a changed lifestyle

4 . Changes Noticed in the Field of Education

We Indians have always been following the contemporary style of teaching and learning and focused on face to face interaction accompanied with love and warmth of the teachers. Educational institutions have been focusing on the holistic development of the students which included sports, extracurricular activities, competitions etc. Education is not just to certify a student by giving a pass certificate but it also includes personality development. This pandemic has disrupted the smooth functioning of the schools. The educational system has started utilizing other modes of teaching. They have gone for online teaching and learning, which is usually not an interactive session. Education is also imparted through education channels so that students from rural areas can also benefit and will not have to face the difficulties of slow internet. Platforms like zoom, Google Meet, Google Class etc. are also the media of imparting education.
Our children are learning from home, thus increasing the responsibilities of the parents and adding to their woes. This pandemic has changed the lifestyle in the field of education too.

5 . Adapting Healthy Lifestyle

We all have realized the importance of healthy food during the pandemic. During lockdowns we had no option of getting food from outside and had to cook at home. We improved our cooking skills and also learnt to adapt a healthy lifestyle. Fruits which were considered to be a luxury or tasteless for some, are in demand in the present times.  We all have become health conscious and want to boost our immune system with vitamins and minerals.

6 . Impact of Pandemic on Social Lifestyle

The pandemic has totally altered our social lifestyle. We are not able to dine in restaurants and even if we happen to walk into it, we need to follow all the measures of hygiene and safety. Social distancing, hand sanitization and masks are to be used without fail when we go for shopping or even to a mall or a theatre. Social visits have almost taken a backseat. If we wish to pay a visit to a relative or a friend, we first try to find out if all are well in their family and no one is suffering from cold or fever. We have become more cautious and there is a visible change in our social lifestyle.

7 . Pandemic Has Changed the Lifestyle

In this busy schedule of life, we had never thought of looking at the blue sky in the evenings and admiring the beauty of nature. We never got enough time to spend with our family enjoying games like carom or ludo and cooking and savouring homemade delicious food. Covid 19 has been quite generous in this field. It has given ample time to all the families all over the world to enjoy some quality time with their loved ones.
We all had never been so hygienic before as we are today. Sanitising hands frequently, maintaining distance from others or wearing masks was never our lifestyle but this pandemic has changed our lifestyle and now most of us are seen with a mask on the face and a sanitizer in the pocket or our purse. To be honest, these are good habits and should be continued throughout our life. Work from home is another changed lifestyle which in itself brought about many changes in the lifestyle of families. It has reduced the dress sense and people start their WFH even in slacks or track pants. We are losing discipline in our daily lifestyle. It is better we take up the good habits and shed off the ones which make us lose our discipline. The pandemic has really changed the lifestyle of all the fields.
